Volunteering abroad is an amazing thing to do, for a lot of reasons. First and foremost, it enables you to give something of real significance to a worthy cause.
It can also provide something more personal in the form of valuable life experience. Living among people born into difficult circumstances, or seeing first-hand areas damaged by neglect or exploitation is eye-opening. It allows you to comprehend these issues far better than by watching the news, or reading a book ever could. Understanding these issues and then contributing to their improvement can bring a real sense of wellbeing.
There are plenty of ways to explore the world, but not all of them give you the sense of freedom and the strong thighs you get from seeing the sights from your bike. The first thing I ever fell in love with about cycling was actually a bicycle bell that I was given for my 13th birthday; it had the classic ting ting! sound that I’d heard in countless movies during my childhood, and I spent the rest of that birthday ringing it in my family’s ears over and over again.
I’d had a bike for years, but it was that bell that motivated me to get out and start riding every day - and I never looked back. But you don’t have to have the best bike bell in the world to fall in love with cycling, and especially not when your bike is the vehicle that takes you to the places you’ve always dreamed of going. So, why do I always tell people that the best way to explore the world is by bicycle?
Sweden is a land of dazzling architecture and grand cityscapes. It has beautiful coastlines, numerous rocky islands, cozy cottages and mouthwatering cuisine. You have probably heard of the Viking legends, the Nobel Prizes, Volvo, IKEA, reindeer herders and the wildly popular musical group ABBA. The country that recently gave us Candy Crush has many spots you can explore. It is not all about brands, and there are numerous attractions and activities for the adventure lover.
The tourism industry is well developed. Most of the visitors are from the neighboring countries in Europe including Finland, Germany, and Denmark. How can you find the most amazing sites to explore? Here are a few places that I, D Scott Carruthers try when looking to visit Sweden.
Many of us adore the idea of travelling. Whether you’re planning to visit the legendary Eiffel Tower in Paris, skydive in the south of New Zealand or explore the vast cityscapes of the United States, there’s so much to see and do in this world and so many people to meet, why would you not want to?
However, many of us plan to leave on months of savings we’ve collected which can leave our budgets feeling very limited. But, why not take advantage of the way the world works and earn money while you travel? This can open up a whole new world of opportunities where the world really is your oyster!
Today, we’ll explore some of the best ways to earn money easily while you’re travelling.
Are you totally in love with bike tours? Me too! However, one thing that lets us down when we want to go for long tours with our faithful companions is the expense. Already the process of getting the bike ready can be so expensive. It can even make you think of just letting go off the trip.
But the good news are that you can actually go bike touring on a budget! Initially, I thought the only time to go for a long journey with my bike was when I had huge chunks of money in my savings account. But I have come to realize it doesn’t have to be expensive, and I have learned several tips that I am going to share with you so you can travel on a budget to wherever you want and at any time.
Why buy leather luggage when there are so many new materials seeing the light of day? Isn’t leather old fashioned and out of date?
If you think that, we strongly advise you to think again. There are several reasons that leather is an outstanding choice of material when you’re looking for a new bag or luggage. Or why not a tablet case or a wallet?
We here at Travel Gear have to admit that we have lived in leather-related ignorance. There is so much to know about this material that we didn’t have a clue about. Now we do, and we want to share this knowledge with you. Let’s go!

Well, sleep of course! But on a plane with noises, lights and no bed in sight that is not always the easiest thing to do. It’s hard to relax properly when you’re stuck in a plane seat. There are many ways to get to see the landscape of a place you are visiting. You can take a bus ride, rent a car, take a walk or perhaps even a helicopter tour!
You can also use someone else’s legs.
No, I’m not suggesting your travel partner should carry you, or that you’d commit some hideous act of leg swapping or anything like that 😮
This is about one of mankind’s best and most loyal friends since thousands of years, that have carried us far beyond what we would have managed on our own to legs.Read more
While backpacking becomes a more and more common type of travelling, most of us need more than just a backpack to contain all of our travelling needs. Or, we don’t care to carry all of our stuff on our backs. A good travel luggage is a must to get the best travelling experience. But the current traveller’s tribe is divided into two factions: the softsiders and the hardsiders (Okay, I made the terms up!). Nevertheless, choosing between softside and hardside travel luggage is a never ending dilemma among travellers. Both have upsides and downsides, and it’s up to you to choose which one fits your needs best.
If you’re torn between the two sides, you need to know them well before you can choose one of the two. While the name seems to tell you all, they have deeper personalities behind those pretty cases. Let’s have a look!Read more
Travellers around the world most likely agree that luggage rules and restrictions often are confusing as well as frustrating. This is especially true for those who often use different airlines to go places.
There is also the airport’s “Bermuda Triangle”, that sometimes makes your luggage disappear. But, the major problem is the inconsistency of rules and regulations about luggage. Hardly any two airlines have the same size restrictions, which is especially true when it comes to carry on luggage size.
To add to the problem, the airlines can change the rules to their heart’s content the way that they see fit. And that without prior notice.
But why do airlines put the rules up in the first place? What are the factors that will determine the luggage limitations? Let’s dig a little deeper!Read more
